Data Portal

The ATP Informatics Portal (www.atpportal.org) is an integrated data access system based on Oracle technology, that was developed to provide access for researchers to information on the expansive ATP tissue repository.  This web based database serves as a researcher interface for data mining of the tissue repository, a way for researchers to submit tissue applications to the ATP, and a way to track tissue application reviews, project proposal information and data submissions.  The ATP Portal permits sorting of known brain tissue donors based on ante-mortem history as well as agonal states, post-mortem tissue conditions and medical-clinical documentation.  An expansion of the ATP Portal established administrative tracking of registrants intending to donate, as well as management of tissue requests, written reviews, the awarding and tracking of tissue, and the posting of resultant data and publications.  Additional enhancements expanded the ATP Portal to include the affiliate brain bank at Oxford, UK, as well as the tracking of fibroblast and post mortem derived stem cells, genetic data from brains within the ATP collection and new groups of donors defined by genetic disorders.   The ATP Portal is in the process of assimilating data sets derived from research on several core groups of donors with searchable access by investigators as well as performing regular database upgrades including new features suggested by PIs and the Tissue Advisory Board (TAB).

The ATP is continually investing in the ATP Portal, a database both unique and unparalleled in the autism tissue research, to create the most robust, data rich and biologically relevant resource, in an effort to support the scientific community and facilitate autism research.
